Our day-to-day schedule can be quite hectic at times, it may even seem impossible to manage everything on our plate. Keeping our homes clean is one thing that we all try to keep up with – from doing laundry to putting away dishes and the lists go on. But did you know that a clean home is as important as good hygiene? When you have a dirty home, it becomes an unhealthy environment.
In this article, we’ve provided a great list of some tips on how to keep your homes clean. This will guarantee you a worry free home!
1. Creating a Cleaning Schedule
Juggling work, errands or parenthood can be overwhelming sometimes. Aswell, it can be tough to find time to clean with a busy week ahead of you. We find that sticking to a cleaning schedule is a great solution for this problem.
It’s impossible to fit every area of your home in one day – especially having a tight schedule, so we highly suggest splitting tasks by room. This would of course vary for everyone. You can create a schedule which best fits your daily routine.
An example of a weekly schedule:
- MONDAY: Living Room & Vacuuming
- TUESDAY: Bedrooms & Dusting
- WEDNESDAY: Laundry
- THURSDAY: Kitchen & Mopping
- FRIDAY: Bathrooms
- SATURDAY: Deep Clean
Once you’ve created your schedule, try to follow it consistently. You will notice how big of a difference it makes in your day-to-day life.
2. One Room at a Time
Unless you are doing a full deep clean of your home, we find that the best way to tackle home cleaning is by hitting one room at a time throughout the week. Like mentioned above, it can be tricky to find time to hit everything in one day.
When you split tasks daily, this will ensure that every part of your home is well maintained.
3. Clean as you Go
Putting away things as you go is something we should make a habit of. It doesn’t take much of our time and it avoids things from piling up leading to a messy appearance.
Here are a couple suggestions we think would help:
- Make your beds every morning – who doesn’t love sleeping in a clean comfortable bed?
- Putting away dishes after every use – this avoids dishes from piling up in the sink
- Put away clothes neatly – we don’t want clothes laying on the floor!
- Put your shoes and coats away after entering your home
Taking on these simple habits can lead to a clean & positive lifestyle.
4. Declutter
Let’s be honest, we all have things around our home that probably aren’t of use anymore. Some of us might even deny that we hoard unnecessary items. When too many things are around, your home becomes too cluttered and not appealing.
We highly suggest you take the time to look around and see if there’s anything that can be thrown away. Things such as boxes, junk mails, magazines, & more items that are taking too much space should be removed.
Having a well-kept home gives you a sense of pride, that you’ve actually done a great job maintaining a clean home that you can proudly say is yours.
Keeping your homes clean isn’t as complicated as it sounds. What’s awesome is that it only takes a little time and effort to have your house clean in no time!
Who doesn’t want a clean home, right?
